What is the Pilates method?
—

Joseph Pilates first developed his ‘Contrology’ method in the early 20th century. Before long though his teachings became simply known by his name: Pilates.

The Pilates method focuses on mind-body connection and controlled, precise movement to promote core strength, control and alignment.

Pilates based everything around his four key principles: breath, control, precision and flow.

More than 100 years later Pilates is now widely used in fitness and rehabilitation as well as a wide variety of sports and athletic training.
