Got questions about funding?

-
Yes. Our courses are fully funded, so eligible students pay nothing for their training. There is no catch, no hidden course fees and nothing to pay back.
The funding covers the cost of your training, and we ask for your commitment in return: attending sessions, completing your practice hours and assessments, and working towards your qualification.
-
You’ll work towards a Level 3 Pilates Matwork instructor qualification, accredited by YMCA Awards. This qualifies you to teach Pilates and to gain insurance and registration as an instructor in the UK.
-
Yes. Cost and quality are separate things. The Pilates School was founded by Karol House, a physiotherapist and Pilates educator with over 30 years of experience, because she believed training should be about the quality of the teacher, not profit. We are invested in your development and believe you’ll receive the same thorough anatomy teaching, supervised practice and clinical insight you’d expect from a premium course.

The Pilates School offers YMCA Level 3 qualifications in Matwork and Reformer, so you’ll gain the same nationally recognised qualification as you would elsewhere. What sets us apart is how we teach it. Our groups are capped at 10 students, so you get real attention and feedback rather than being one of a crowd. You’re taught by Karol House, a physiotherapist and Pilates educator with over 30 years of clinical and movement experience, who brings that insight into every session. Training combines practical teaching, theory and guided observation, so you finish confident to teach, not just certified. And our courses are fully funded and free to eligible students, so you can choose a provider on the quality of the training rather than the price. If you’re comparing providers, we’d encourage you to ask each one about group size, who teaches the course, how much supervised practice is included and what’s covered by the fee.

The Pilates School is a genuine training provider, not a promotional scheme. We offer YMCA Level 3 qualifications in Matwork and Reformer, awarded through YMCA Awards. Our courses are led by Karol House, a physiotherapist and Pilates educator with over 30 years of experience, in small groups of no more than 10 students at our studio in Haslemere, Surrey, UK. Free doesn’t mean lower quality: the same training, supervised practice and assessment apply to every student.

They’re not common! Funded places are usually limited to specific groups, such as learners under 19 at some further education colleges, or adults who meet particular funding rules on certain courses. Eligibility depends on your age, where you live, your employment status and your previous qualifications, so it’s worth checking directly with each provider.
The Pilates School offers fully funded Level 3 Pilates teacher training, free to everyone, through our application process. Our courses lead to YMCA Awards Level 3 qualifications, are taught in small groups of no more than 10 students, and are led by Karol House, a physiotherapist and Pilates educator with over 30 years of experience.
If you’re comparing options, check that:
the qualification is regulated, such as an Ofqual-regulated Level 3 from a recognised awarding body
you know exactly who is eligible
you know what is and isn’t covered, such as exam fees, insurance or travel
there is supervised, in-person practice, not just online theory
